The Womenice Inclusion Hub creates a community of opportunity for people facing discrimination and exclusion, with albinism as a priority area. The project brings together awareness, education, the #IAmMelanin campaign, mentorship, leadership development, skills training, advocacy and access to opportunities, particularly supporting women and young people with albinism.
Somewhere in Africa, right now, a person with albinism may be facing discrimination-not for committing a crime, not for doing anything wrong, but simply for existing. People with albinism continue to face stigma, exclusion, violence and harmful beliefs that can limit their safety, dignity and opportunities. I witnessed this myself when I was eight years old, when I saw a person with albinism being bullied and stigmatized. That experience stayed with me and shaped my commitment to inclusion.
Through the Womenice Inclusion Hub, we will use education, awareness, storytelling, mentorship, skills training and advocacy to challenge harmful beliefs about albinism and promote dignity, inclusion and equal opportunities. The project will amplify the voices of people with albinism, particularly women and young people, while providing mentorship and practical training to strengthen confidence, leadership and participation. Community and digital activities will engage institutions and advocate
Womenice envisions expanding the Inclusion Hub into a digital community connecting women, people with disabilities and people with albinism to education, mentorship, training, jobs and other opportunities. The platform will connect communities with organizations, mobilize resources for identified needs and support fundraising for local associations. Over time, it will create a growing ecosystem of inclusion, opportunity, representation and empowerment across Africa.
