The project aims to promote gender equality among adolescents and youth through educational and community processes. It recognizes that this stage shapes values and behaviors, yet stereotypes still limit their development. The initiative will foster awareness of human rights, youth leadership with a gender perspective, respectful relationships, and family and community involvement, building a more just, equitable, and inclusive society.
During adolescence and young adulthood, many of the values, attitudes, and behaviors that will accompany individuals throughout their adult lives are formed. However, stereotypes and discriminatory practices still persist that limit the comprehensive development of young people, perpetuating gender inequalities.
This project seeks to promote gender equality from an early age, raising awareness, creating spaces for dialogue, and empowering youth to build a more just, equitable, and inclusive community, where women and men enjoy equal status for the full enjoyment of their human rights. Education is essential for developing skills and building fulfilling life plans.
The project will shape adolescents and youth to be more aware, critical, and committed to gender equality, transforming cultural patterns that perpetuate discrimination. In the long term, it is expected to achieve greater awareness, youth leadership in equity and violence prevention, a reduction of discriminatory behaviors, and the building of a community culture based on respect, shared responsibility, and social justice.
