It has been a difficult time for all of us around the world, but we keep on working hard to reach our goal. Since March13, 2020 the government of Puerto Rico impossed a quarantine period that was lifted on June16,2020. In all that time , we started conversation with the Department of Natural Resources . They responded favorably to our project. We also raised close to 4,000.00 in order to to build our fountain. We finished 3 fountain design and sent them to be approved by Biologist Caridad Mendizabal, Director of Forest Reserve Guilarte at Adjuntas. We also sent our designs to our friends from "Estuario de San Juan", anbother non-for-profit organization that works with water protection in the Metropolitan areas in Puerto Rico. They reviewd our designs, made comments and suggestions that we incorporated in our project.
We also held several meetings with Jack Burden, from Water Harvesting Co in Florida to offer them a partnership in creating a bigger water repository, since hurricane season is approaching and there is already water shortage in the southern part of the island, close to were our project will be set. He is studying our proposal to see in which ways his company of water recollection can enter our project.
Currently, we are waiting for the reopening of Natural Resources office in order to get the permits to start our project! We cannot wait! There is still a long way to go, but we would not have made it so far without the assistant and support of all our donors from the GlobalGiving platform.
