The challenges due to the ongoing armed conflicts in the Democratic Republic of Congo especially in North Kivu, South Kivu and Ituri have motivated us to think of this project consisting to address the issue of hate speech. As communities the mentioned areas are accusing each other to be the core cause of the conflicts in DRC and to avoid that we live another scenario of conflict in the great region in the future, we have decided at Blessed Aid set up a peace training and education centre with an overarching goal a peacebuilding, social cohesion and peaceful cohabitation between communities. This centre has to welcome various people in Goma such as university students, secondary school’s people, local authorities, women in cross-border trade and many other people from DRC and the Great lakes region.
This project intends on being a framework for exchanges, information, training and education for sustainable peace in the Great Lakes region. It complays for advocacy for responsible behaviour and shared public campains and educational resources for all the communities living in Democratic Republic of Congo in particular and those of the Great Lakes region in genaral.
This is why we continue of calling upon the generosity of everyone in order to tackle the hate speech in the DRC and then spread messages of tolerance between the local communities.
