We are very pleased to inform you about the progress on our tree planting project in the MULIA Gardens. We have mobilised over 200 families to be part of the enviroment protection through our community survey. Though not all families will receive the trees, The target famiies are going to be the ambassodors in the enviriomental protection through tree planting in the mulia gardens across the all community.
Over 200 families have been sensitized. There is also giving away day for the trees to selected families. The Organisation have planned a one day trainng to community members how to manage the tress with the help of Slow Food Uganda.
In Uganda, most trees that are given for planting end up not taken care of because the benificiaries are just got involved in the tree planting projects without sensitizing them to understadnd the purpose and importance of taking care of trees.
On 27th of May, MULIA Foundation will be hosting the community to ensure they get to understand how to take care of the tree. by promoting acampaign called "Trees have life, take care of them".
This will be followed by monitoring families after planting the trees by our agricultural officer to ensure these trees grow.
We have targeted this rain season to ensure we have the trees planted. In our next report you will be able to access see how trees are progressing.
Currently the selected families are preparing space for trees. Children are in their small gardens indentifying cpace for tree planting with parents so that as soon as we have training done, the supply of tress will follow and planting.
We would like to thank you for the continued support.
