To promote the holistic development of children and youth in vulnerable situations in the Iztapalapa and Tlalpan delegations through the implementation of giant chess games and educational materials at Luz Bringas and Agustin Garcia Conde schools, part of the Fundacion Bringas-Haghenbeck. The project aims to transform recess into active educational spaces that foster social, cognitive, and emotional skills.
Recess periods in schools within vulnerable communities are often unstructured, leaving students without meaningful activities that promote learning, values, and social development. This lack of structured activities can lead to disruptive behaviors, social exclusion, and low motivation for learning. Additionally, these communities lack access to recreational and educational opportunities that help develop fundamental skills such as teamwork, decision-making, and problem-solving.
The project will transform schoolyards into active learning spaces by installing giant chess games and educational materials. These educational tools will be available for use during recess and as part of pedagogical activities. Additionally, teachers and administrative staff will be trained to facilitate these tools, organizing tournaments and chess classes that foster values, social skills, and critical thinking.
