The first action that the Achon Uganda Children's Fund took in the village of Awake in Northern Uganda was to drill two wells, in order to bring fresh water to the village. This has significantly improved both hygiene and quality of life. However, we do not yet have clean running water in the health clinic; we've been transporting water into the clinic via large containers that are filled at the wells. We're working now to change this. Attached is a diagram of the new water system.
Over the next two months, we will construct a water catchment system, a water tower, and a pump. This will allow us to further increase hygiene and quality of care.
Thanks for your help in making this possible!
