Supporting Women in Our Community

Research shows that women feel the impact of war more deeply than men. Ongoing challenges, higher levels of gender based violence, loss of land and livestock, and consequently loss of livelihoods are just some of the impacts.

Following Uganda's 20 year civil war, this was the harsh reality for the women of northern Uganda. Even today, the barriers women face on a daily basis prevent economic independence and full freedom.

This is why AUCF has made Cents for Seeds one of its keystone initiatives. This microloan project provides a woman with everything she'll need to secure an income for her family and reverse some of the disproportionate effects of the impact of the war.

Thanks to your generous support, we're able to provide lifesaving healthcare at Kristina Health Clinic, and also support the women in our community through maternal services and Cents for Seeds.
