Accompany 200 women that live violence in Oaxaca

The Friday night rain much, it seemed like the sky would fall in the shapes of raindrops at any moment. Under thunders and the rain was Ruben, screaming outside María house, he wanted to take their children. María fell much fear, she could’t sleep in all night. The next day, very early, María, with her mam and children, went to Casa de la Mujer Indígena Nääxwiin, without having breakfast. María was desperate, fearfully, sad and the anguish ran through her body. This is the middle path of a history that begining when María married with Rubén.

Rubén is militar, beats María and has raped her. When only she had two months pregnant and after having undergone surgery on the womb for a complication that she had in the birth of her last child, Rubén forced María to have sex. In addition, she told him that in the hospital she had had sexual encounters with the doctors. Like María case, many woman go to Centro de Atención de Nääxwiin to find help. Since the pandemic beginning, we noted that was a significant increment in violence gender cases in our zone Tehuantepec isthmus. In Janary and February 2021 have come to us 21 woman, who has recibed, in dependency of their neccessity and service, legal orientation, accompaniment, psychological care and translation in mixe language.

We have offer psychological care, legal attention, translation in mixe language and accompaniment in front the justice authorities to 21 women who have received one or more of these services.
