No age for Tech

By Surely Gonzalez | Project Leader

Hi everyone, thank you very much for your support. It is very important to us to show the world how Technology can improve our lives no matter time and space.

The RIA centers (Spanish acronym for Innovation and Learning Network) are spaces where children and young people complement their formal education to be more competitive and innovative. But the RIAs have distinguished too by providing the same opportunities for adults.

Technology has become a pillar of our societies and is currently conceived as a catalyst for the transformation of realities. However, technology is useless if people do not take advantage of its benefits for their daily lives.

New technological tools provide endless benefits. One of the most relevant is their immense communicative ability and access to information through the internet. Through a wide range of programs, adults - especially those with physical disabilities or displacement problems - can enjoy reading books, journals, searching for data, or getting in touch with friends and family without having to leave home. Different applications allow them to listen and watch their loved ones at a distance.

Through different courses offered at RIA centers, adults can learn to use basic work tools for personal purposes such as writing e-mails to relatives or expanding their job opportunities and better salary because they develop new and more skills.

Faced with a world in constant development and a wide offer of technology, it is normal for the elderly, for example, to show an interest in learning about the use of digital devices. The specialists explain that this knowledge must be learned little by little, and it is necessary to practice daily in order to not forget the new information.

Adults have the option to learn English, Office tools, coding, personal finance, how to start a business, among other topics of their interest, so that they can have the possibility of generating an income. In Fundacion Proacceso ECO, A.C. we are very proud of the students who benefit from the effort that you and we do day by day.

For this reason, we invite you to continue supporting this initiative so more people can access to the technology and can develop their own digital skills.
