Oh... Hello, there!

We are thrilled to reach you once more to tell you how your donation to our project is changing the lives of youth in marginalized communities in the State of Mexico. We really appreciate your contribution and your trust in our project, it is thanks to you support that we can continue to bridge the digital divide in Mexico and grant access to technology for the greater good.

In the last weeks we were able to open a new space in one of our centers, the Coding Garage. This space will be dedicated to train youth in coding, innovation and virtual reality while developing in them critical thinking, problem solving and learning skills thorough technology. The Coding Garage also promotes gender equality by fostering coding skills in girls and women, involving them in this industry and preparing them for the future. Finally, this space also considerates an economic opportunity strategy to create opportunites in either education, employment or enterpreneurship with an emphasis on tech and IT industries.

In Proacceso we truly belive that the future is now and more than every we need to engage youth in coding and high profile tech related activities. Spaces like Coding Garage will help to prepate many young users to face today's world which calls for more tech professionals. Also, we belive that this kind of skills can change the way youth relates, thinks and behaves and to prove this point, let us tell you the story of Adrian.

Adrian is 13 years old and lives in Nezahualcoyotl in the State of Mexico. He usually is an introvert young man with a difficulty to engage in conversation and chatting with other classmates. Usually, he can come off as wayward and conceited, however when he enrolled in a basic programming course he completely changed his attitude and became more active. Adrian became a very dedicated student, finishing activities in a short period of time, collaborating with some classmates and learning fast most of the concepts.  Something very particular about Adrian is his curiosity and knowledge seeking, a factor which showed in his will for being the first one to finish. Furthermore, when working in teams, he was more open to collaborate, even though when time was not in their favor he took the lead to finish the job working on his own.

Adrian’s passion in his classes contributed to his change of attitude and behaviour. Before engaging in these activities, he has difficulties for communicating and socializing but thanks to team work in a tech environment he was able to redirect his energies towards common goals and collaboration while also promoting his own interests inside the team. Adrian is now very keen in enrolling in the Coding Garage courses to further specialize in computer science and continue his way as a future tech professional.

Help us tell more stories like Adrian's, share our project, help us continue to change the lives of Mexican youth!
