Hi there!
When I am feelling bad or lonely after a bad day, hanging out with friends make me feel at home, with a felling of belongin. Looking photos of all the kids that take workshops in our centers, I realize that this children smile because they are happy and confident; They found a second home and friends to share experiences.
We all remember our first childhood friend. The one we woke up excited to see at school everyday. Making friends is a vital part of growing up as well as and an essential part of children social and emotional development.
As adults, our friends remain a major important part of our lives, from sharing problems, asking for advice, uncontrollable laughter and good times, sharing our life events and proudest moments, our friends help each of us to define who we are.
The Learning Innovation Network and Digital Libraries are not only centers that connect underserved populations to achieve quality education and technology they also are centers that connect people, built up community structures where friendship came up and create bonds that would last for a lifetime.
