Thanks to the support we have received on GlobalGiving´s platform our project Access to Technology and Education in Mexico has more and more users. In this project report we would like to introduce you to Lourdes Romero Mancilla, a dedicated and enthusiastic RIA user who is eager to learn computing at the RIA.

In October 2012, Lourdes went to the RIA (Learning and Innovation Network) Center located in Valle de Chalco a municipality in the State of Mexico, and decided to enroll in Acércate a la Compu, a course intended for people that want to get closer to the computer and its basic functions.

Let´s read what this proud and enthusiastic elder has to say about her experience

“When I go to other organizations I feel they don´t respect elder people. The RIA is a nonprofit project created with the aim of helping the community and we are an important part of the community. I encourage all the people from my age to come to the RIA and learn the importance of being up to date and discover how useful a computer can be for the daily moments of your life”.

Also Emilio from Almoloya Juárez an 8 year old who is studying English and wrote us a letter showing us what he thinks about the RIA. (see the attached photo)

Thanks for your contribution!
