Since 2016, HLFPPT is helping poor couples in Uttar Pradesh, (UP-India) to avail easy access to Family Planning Methods through our Network of MerryGold Hospitals. These Hospitals are well equipped with trained and qualified doctors, Counsellors and Merry Tarang Workers (MTWs), also known as Front line health worker (FLHW). These MTWs are well versed with the local community, having detailed information about the poor families, who need family planning methods.
Today, we are introducing Smt. Chanda, who has opted for Permanent Sterilization at our MerryGold Hospital situated at Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh with the help of your generous donations towards this project. You can see the happiness and bright eye of this child. The decision of chanda helped her to manage her other three children very well and also allowed her to provide them good and healthy food.

This was my sole decision to go for permanent Sterilization, as my husband and In-laws were not in favour. Due to this, I was also tensed. I was not able to take proper care to my earlier three children. Every day, there was a discussion over, not to go for permanent sterilization.
Since, my husband was also not convinced with my decision. I made a plan to get help from Merry Tarang Workers (DIDI), who helped me to understand the consciousness of having more than four Child. Even Didi was in favour of not having more than three children, but due to bad judgement of Family Planning methods we had opted, I have no other option left to my fourth child. That time only, I had decided to “No More”.
With the help of my neighbour, I went to the hospital and asked Merry Tarang Worker (MTW) to come with me and please have a talk with my Husband to convince him for my decision that, we should go for permanent sterilization.
She has visited at evening, on the same day. My husband was not ready to hear a single word. It was very embarrassing moment for me. I again requested him to please just listen to the MTW Didi, at least one time and decide the fate of my life then. He finally agreed to listen.
Thank god that, MTW didi explained him so well that, how a mother’s health are on risk after three consecutive Child Birth. This also hampers the health of child and mother as well. He was depicting some flip-book, which was having Pictures and story that how the decision for permanent sterilization can bring happiness to my family.
It will also help us to stabilize financially, as well as to focus more on good health and up-bringing of my Childs for their education etc.
He nodded with yes to my decision and said, I will talk with other family members regarding this decision. You don’t worry and please go with Permanent Sterilization, which is actually free at Merry Gold Hospitals. We both were smiling after this decision. We were on same page now and I was feeling much relaxed. On the very same day, We talked with doctor and took an appointment for operation. It went successful.
Now, we all are happy. I am feeling much delighted and confident with my decision. Moreover, I had done all this for my family, for my child. We are in debt to our donors and supporters, who have helped us.
