As the busy summer winds down and we all prepare to get back to fall activities, we are proud to report that not only will we meet our target of 250 adventures by the end of the year, but we remain on track to significantly exceed that number!
We are also very excited to announce that in September Waypoint will welcome our first full-time Development Director, Raeann Whalen. Raeann will head our newly formalized Development Team and work to ensure that Waypoint remains a strong and sustainable organization able to meet the ever increasing, and ever more diverse, demands for our services. Additionally, Waypoint has begun a new outreach initiative for people with spinal cord injuries. We look forward to learning how we can expand our services and go on more adventures with even more members of our community.
This summer we also piloted our first canoe-based adventure programming. In early August our “Amigos” group, consisting of Cotting School alumni, helped us with one of our first canoeing adventures. These photos from our perfect day out on the water really speak for themselves!
