FIRST VISIT FOR THE YEAR

On the day of our last visit to this school of mentally and physically challenged children, 2nd March 2025, most of them expressed their excitement being that we missed visiting the previous month of February.
In February, the road to the school became dried and impossible for cars to drive through. We enquired and was told that the early rains of 2024 were too heavy in that area which resulted to over-flooding of the only access road the school. the erosion caused and left now is amazing. We were constrained to bill for an emergency meeting of BoT and staff of C4HDI to discuss the situation and to arrive at the best approach to solve the problem of our scheduled monthly visits to the school. In our meeting, we discussed at length and arrived at inviting a teacher over to our office to collect our gifts for the children. We considered paying for a chartered taxi for her to come over but realized that if we did so, it'll affect the sum of the fund we dedicated for them for the month.
We decided that we would fund her visiting travels costs using public transport and back to the school same way. We saved over 80% of the fund ear marked for the children by paying for her transport to and fro the school village via a public transport.

STILL IN THE DRY SEASON
Being still in the season of dry weather known as heat season and it has a lot of influence on our beneficiaries. This is the season when there is endemic flu for children. So, we are increasing supply of vitamin drugs and supplements to prevent them from having cough and associated diseases. The weather is so hot that we fear for heat strokes. We are going to provide cotton T-shirts and other lighter materials to aid in coping for the heat. It's so hot that a pair of washed jeans pants dries up in an hour. Provision of water and other local juices were made.

TAKING STOCK FOR THE YEAR

C4HDI staff and volunteers who attended the stock taking meeting took inventory of our store. Left over items from the previous year were recorded and carried forward to 2025. We have plenty of bottle water and a few blankets in stock. All the exercise books and study books were completely shared out.
Now time to wash and tidy our store which has been scheduled.

PLAN FOR THE YEAR

We plan for a meeting to decide how our works and schedules will run for this 2025. Hopefully, fundraising shall ocuppy the the first priority position. Unlike other years, this year shall see is practice what we have learnt from Bridge training on digital fundraising. Hopefully too, we shall be able to meet our threshold to be able to sustain the ongoing work with our beneficiaries.
