Shoshit Seva Sangh - A Project Report

Shoshit Seva Sangh was given the ‘India Positive Award’ by CNN-IBN, a leading TV channel in English in India. This TV channel regularly telecast on weekends at prime-time a feature covering the activities of 4-5 NGOs doing excellent work in various sectors in India. Out of the approximately 240 NGOs covered in ‘India Positive’ segment during 2011-12, nine NGOs were selected by a panel for outstanding work in various sectors. Shoshit Seva Sangh was given the ‘India Positive Award’ 2012, for its work in the field of education for the underprivileged. The award giving function was held at The Taj Palace, New Delhi, on October 04, 2012. Some photographs of the function are attached. The first semester examinations at Shoshit Samadhan Kendra, the fully free English medium residential school for the poorest of the poor run by Shoshit Seva Sangh were held from October 8 to 13, 2012. CBSE norms were followed in setting the question papers and in evaluation of answer-books. The overall performance of the children could be considered to be very good.

 

The boundary of the land acquired by Shoshit Seva Sangh for the construction of the proposed school building has been completed. Some photographs of the site are attached. The total area of land acquired is 1.80 acres at a cost of INR 20.30 millions. The construction of boundary wall including plaster work is INR 3.1 million approximately.
