Hello friends! We wanted to share with you an update from Idjwi Island.
This has been a difficult year in much of Eastern Congo but the Buhumba Primary School is still thriving. Earlier this month our local medical team visited the school to conduct examinations and provide care for more than 230 students over several days. During this visit, a large number of students tested positive for malaria and other common tropical diseases. Every child that tested positive received treatment. We have the resources and staff to continue with these regular examinations and treatment. When conditions permit, we will conduct another expanded medical mission to provide greater support.
As always, we appreciate your support for the children. It makes a difference.
