A maternity unit to save 2,300 lives in Burundi

We are thrilled to share an extraordinary update with you. Thanks to your unwavering belief in our mission, we have officially completed the physical construction of our maternity unit's surgical extension at the Rukundo Medical Polyclinic. What was once a vision is now a fully realized structure, with all high-standard painting, specialized tiling, and critical electrical and hydraulic (plumbing) systems 100% installed and tested. Most importantly, the Ministry of Health has officially inspected and validated our new building, formally certifying its full compliance with national medical standards and greenlighting our path forward.

With the physical structure and legal compliance fully secured, we are officially closing the construction chapter and shifting our focus entirely to the final, crucial milestone: The Equipment Phase. To transform this beautifully finished space into an operational, life-saving sanctuary capable of performing emergency C-sections on-site, we must now procure specialized medical tools. Our immediate fundraising priorities include securing an anesthesia machine, a specialized operating table, high-precision surgical lighting, sterilization equipment, and four neonatal incubators to protect vulnerable newborns.

Every brick laid, every utility connected, and this monumental official validation from the Ministry of Health were made possible because you chose to stand with us to eliminate high-risk, distant hospital transfers for mothers in critical distress. As we enter this final equipment push to bring the surgical wing into immediate operation, your continued partnership remains our greatest strength.
