Dear donor and friend. Let me introduce you to Popeye, a pure outdoor cat, desperate for love and shelter, who within two months became a snuggly, mellow kitchen cat. We already knew him from the distance during the last year, when he crossed the farthest part of our garden. He always seemed so busy, that we never suspected him to be homeless. Sometimes we heard terrible cat fights and we knew that there were some unsterilized cats out there. Then we suddenly saw him sleeping in a house we made for the strays, where we always leave water and food. After some time I could come closer and saw he was injured from several fights with neighbor cats and opossums. So we camouflaged a trap, filled it with tuna and after ten minutes we had him where we wanted him to be. He stayed one week at the vet´s for treatment of his wounds, and came back neutered and ready for a new life. First he hid again in the bushes, became invisible during daytime, but when I offered him food, he was already expecting me. Gradually, he gained confidence, and let me touch him. And slowly, step by step, he came closer. Being a good observer, he already knew us well, our routine, our animals, the outdoors. It was time to explore the house, and that’s what he did. He fell in love with the kitchen, where he spends 20 hours a day, sleeping, playing, always begging for food, and having long philosophical conversations with his favorite humans, his devoted servants. Cat life at its best!!
