Project Summary
The Home of Hope – Haven of 9 Hearts Project is a child protection and residential care initiative being implemented by Angels Palace to support orphaned and vulnerable children in Chegutu Rural District. The project aims to establish a safe and structured children’s home that provides accommodation, education support, nutrition assistance, psychosocial care, and disability-inclusive services.
This initiative responds to the growing number of children living without adequate care and protection structures in rural communities where access to residential support services remains limited.
Progress Achieved So Far
Since the launch of the project, Angels Palace has made important foundational progress toward establishing the children’s home:
Land for the children’s home has been secured in Muba Area
Initial housing infrastructure has been constructed through volunteer support
Site security measures have been established
Community engagement processes have been initiated
Local leadership consultation has strengthened community ownership of the project
The organisation continues coordinating with stakeholders supporting vulnerable children
These milestones represent the first phase of developing a permanent residential support centre for vulnerable children.
Current Community Need
Communities in Chegutu Rural District continue to face increasing child vulnerability challenges resulting from:
orphanhood
household poverty
