Move 167 Rescued Animals to their New Home! Dome was rescued from illegal trafficking as an infant and brought to CIWY’s Machia Sanctuary in 2018. Capuchin monkeys are the species most trafficked as pets in the Amazon region. After months of veterinary supervision and a gradual introduction to our group of rescued monkeys, Dome successfully recovered, regained natural behaviors, and integrated into the group.
