Summary

For 2 days straight, non-stop, the Yoga and Sport with Refugees (YSR) community will run a 320km relay around the island of Lesvos! This symbolic journey celebrates the power of sport to transform lives and communities, especially through the coaches and others empowered to make a difference within YSR. We are raising funds to sustain and grow our coach program and support the rest of our team. The coach program helps people from a displaced background become leaders and role models through spor

Challenge

Displaced people face ongoing barriers to employment, purpose, and community integration. In camps and host communities, boredom, frustration, and trauma often dominate daily life. Despite this, many individuals are eager to lead, contribute, and inspire others-yet lack opportunities and recognition.

Solution

At YSR, we believe the solution is sport! We hire and train community coaches to lead regular sport sessions: running, yoga, climbing, boxing, and much, much more! These coaches receive financial support and leadership training, gaining confidence, purpose, and a way to give back to their community. We also view our coach program as a pathway to full-time roles within YSR and the wider humanitarian community in Greece and beyond. The 320km relay run highlights the strength and commitment of our

Long-Term Impact

By supporting the 320km relay, you empower our coaches and the wider team to become pillars of their communities-building bridges, fostering wellbeing, and promoting resilience through sport. Each coach empowered today becomes a multiplier, inspiring and supporting many more. Your support sustains a model of empowerment that restores dignity, builds leadership, and creates lasting social change.
