Since we posted this request, our interns have worked on important projects including our preparations for
• Climate Week events - we took part in 5 different panels, presentations and special events, including the major Peoples Climate March on Sept 21, and workshop at our office which attracted both locals and international participants.
• the initial development of the Green Map Research Archive, which now includes 26 diverse thesis, doctoral and senior papers by professors, university and high school students, all to benefit future researchers studying our processes and impacts. See link below.
• the NYC Fashion Green Map - linked below, this map has a serious purpose as we aim to support reuse, trading, conscious production and fair trade clothing. We may produce a print on demand shopping bag with the map later this season, ideal for visitors and residents!
Our interns have taken part in meetings and helped us welcome visitors to our office. Yesterday, this was a group from the International Crisis Mappers conference who learned about the role of community engagement in the mapping of Hurricane Sandy and its aftermath, plus the resiliency development now underway in our community.
Thank you for helping us achieve these and other projects with our wonderful interns! You can find more of the interns' work and writing at Green Map.org/news
