Yorladys is the mother of three beautiful young children, and with your help she can now run and play with her kids like she never could before. This smiling young woman, lost her leg when she was 8 years old, due to a poisonous snake bite.Since, she has use crutches to move, which render her unable to use her hands for work or taking care of her family. Now, she is 28 and her two boys and girl, love running and playing outside but unfortunately Yorladys has never been able to join them, she could only watch them and dream.
Thanks to the generous support of our donors and the efforts we made, Yorladys can now play with her kids, run around, cook and achieve her potencial as a young woman and a dedicated mother. This microproject was retired before we could achieve our US$1,195 goal, but we were not discouraged. We worked hard to fund the rest of the prostheses, the travel costs and the psychological help for Yorladys to recover her mobility with the help of our allies.
Now, laughter and games swarm Yorladys' small household in the town of Turbo, a village in the North West Colombian Coast. With her new prostheses, she can now take her children to school, cook and most importantnly work, she did not only recover her mobility, but her self-confidence.
Thanks to your donations, Yorlady’ story is living proof of the great results that collaboration and solidarity can achieve. Hope and happiness has return to Yorladys and her family, with your help, we did not only gave her a prostheses, we gave her the gift of hapiness.
We encourage you to share Yorlady's story so more people hear about what Mahavir Kmina Limb Center can achieve with the support of people like you.
Once again thank you!
