The organization-wide resilience program will help our 617 employees and 1200 beneficiaries with disabilities better cope with these traumatic times. Workers have told us that every security escalation causes floods of anxiety. This is because they do not have a plan, applicable skills, or tools for coping with the challenges. The organization-wide resilience training program is helping our employees learn how to cope with stressful situations and intervene better in times of emergency.
The need for resilience training became a priority due to the October 7th massacre and the Gaza war. With the war, staff members were put into the challenging position of having to provide emotional care and solve problems for others as part of their jobs, while they were coping with their own trauma. It seeks to solve the high burnout rate due to the challenging work, difficult service recipient behavior, chronic stress, emotional exhaustion, low pay, and lack of personal accomplishment.
It will enable our employees and beneficiaries to better cope with stress, crisis, and uncertainty. Teams will learn to provide backup, support, encouragement, and mutual assistance. For our staff members not directly affected by the war, the training seeks to reduce burnout from the challenging demands of caring for our dependent population. They will learn to impart the coping tools to our beneficiaries with disabilities at their cognitive levels.
We provide essential daytime solutions to over 1400 people with disabilities and their families. Without stable competent workers, we cannot fulfill our mission to do all we can to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities through cutting-edge professional services and programs.
