This microproject will open the door to high school for 20 bright, hardworking students from rural Kisumu in 2026. Without support, many would be forced to drop out despite strong academic performance. Your gift provides full-year scholarships for 10 boarding students ($500 each) and 10 day scholars ($225 each), which also covers our termly mentorship workshops, giving them the chance to learn, stay safe, and pursue a future filled with dignity, opportunity and hope.
Many bright students in rural Kisumu cannot transition to high school because their families cannot afford the required fees, uniforms, and learning materials. Even high-performing pupils are forced to drop out, delaying or ending their education entirely. This microproject removes the financial barrier that prevents vulnerable children from accessing secondary school and continuing their academic journey.
By funding full-year scholarships for 20 students: 10 boarding ($500 each) and 10 day scholars ($225 each), this microproject removes the financial barrier that prevents many from entering high school. It also supports our termly mentorship workshops, offering guidance, motivation, and academic support. With fees covered and mentorship in place, students are empowered to enrol, stay in school, and complete their first year.
In Kenya, many students who enter secondary school still drop out before completing, with reports showing that up to one-third may never finish. By supporting a student's first year with fees and mentorship, this microproject strengthens stability, reduces dropout risk, and lays the foundation for long-term success. Each scholar supported today is far more likely to stay in school, graduate, and shape a brighter future.
