A few months ago, we received an unexpected proposal: to do a milonga in Rome to raise funds to strengthen organizations working to prevent and eradicate violence in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.
On May 5, at La Casa Internazionale delle Donne (“The International House of Women”, in Italian), in the center of the italian capital, tango and bandoneon maked women and men dance. They joined us to support the work that we carry out from the Fondo de Mujeres del Sur.
For one day, our campaign Together, Stronger and Alive was called Vive, Unite y Forti, for its Italian adaptation. It was a beautiful afternoon.
We thank Emma for bringing us this proposal, for her warmth and commitment; Danielle for joining in organizing this event; Enrico for the beautiful photos; La Casa Internazionale delle Donne for hosting us; and the 60 people who attended to dance and support women's networks .
The funds raised are used to give continuity to the Erradication of Violences and Discriminations program. In 2023, we supported 40 organizations from Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay, which carried out more than 14,000 activities to support women facing gender-based violence, reaching a total of 50,000 indirect beneficiaries.
Together we can eradicate all types of violence against women and girls!
