This microproject will provide urgently needed repairs or replacements for the worn-out boots of 65 dedicated rangers. By equipping them with proper footwear, the project will directly support their ability to continue patrolling vast landscapes and protecting rhinos without interruption, discomfort, or risk of injury.
The project addresses the urgent need for durable, functional footwear for rangers whose boots have worn thin from constant use. Without adequate boots, rangers face increased physical strain, a higher risk of foot injuries, and diminished effectiveness in patrolling and responding to threats, ultimately jeopardising the safety of both rangers and rhinos.
By repairing or replacing each ranger's boots, this microproject ensures that all 65 rangers can continue their essential anti-poaching patrols in comfort and safety. Well-maintained boots will enable them to remain agile, responsive, and resilient across the demanding terrain they cover daily.
Well-equipped rangers are the frontline defense for rhinos and their habitats. Ensuring their comfort and safety improves morale, extends ranger longevity in the field, and strengthens conservation outcomes. This investment in ranger welfare lays the foundation for long-term protection of rhinos, supports biodiversity, and upholds a legacy of courage, commitment, and community-driven conservation.
