Support Disabled Lives in Crisis at Rhoe Camp

Summary

We support 200 people with disabilities living in extreme hardship at the Rhoe IDP camp in Djugu, Ituri, DR Congo. Isolated by armed conflict and severe trauma, they lack food, medicine, clothing, and education. This project will provide vital supplies, trauma care, and vocational training, helping restore dignity and self-reliance in one of the most vulnerable communities.

Challenge

200 disabled individuals at Rhoe Camp in Djugu are trapped in extreme vulnerability. Armed conflict has robbed them of their homes, mobility, and livelihoods. With no access to food, medical care, or education, they face daily neglect, isolation, and abuse. Many children cannot attend school. Insecurity and trauma continue to worsen their suffering. Without urgent help, their survival is at risk.

Solution

We will provide emergency food kits, medicine, clothes, and hygiene products, followed by tailored vocational training in sewing, soap-making, and small business skills. This will restore independence and reduce reliance on aid. We'll also provide school kits for disabled children to resume learning and regain a sense of normalcy in Djugu.

Long-Term Impact

This project will help 200 disabled individuals rebuild dignity and resilience. With new skills and resources, they can start small businesses, support their families, and send their children to school. As the local economy improves, their empowerment will ripple out-strengthening the broader displaced community and creating hope in a place that's been forgotten for too long.
