Greetings to you from Health Education Adoption Rehabilitation Development Society (HEARDS) - India!
We would like to thank you for encouraging us in our journey to empower girls through education. On behalf of the entire team of HEARDS, I would like to thank you for encouraging us in our journey to empower girls through education. So much has happened in the last few months that we wanted to briefly update you on the progress.
It was very much pleased to announce that GlobalGiving has given us badges for Top-Ranked, Effective, site visit verified and vetted organization.
The constant support, encouragement and specific program strategies are required to not only bring them into the schools but also to retain them there. HEARDS has systematically challenged and addressed these structural and cultural-socio-economic barriers through strong program interventions and strategies in partnership with parents, communities, teachers, and Government. HEARDS program has empowered girls by providing them access to quality education and self-development opportunities.
Three girls named Fathu, Sheru and Mumta (all names changed) in a family were dropped out because they belong to the Muslim community and their parents were not sending them to any school. Our tuition staff went to the family of these children and after a long effort, they tried to convince their parents. Finally, after a lot of hardship effort, their mother sent for the tuition center.
Right now, all these 3 children are studying in B.S.Kannan Government High School. They are getting very good marks during their exams and now even their father also got interested in sending these kids to school.
