Thank you for your support of The SPOT. We continue to provide a range of services to youth ages 13-24 in St. Louis, MO.
We have had a great summer, working with youth in our community to gain skills and obtain resources to help them reach their goals. In the first half of 2013, 719 new youth came to The SPOT each visiting an average of 1.7 times. There were a total of 4,104 encounters by 1,765 youth between January 1 - June 30, 2013. Over 3,000 visits were to our drop-in space. Youth took the opportunity to relax in a friendly environment, have a snack, do their laundry, and participate in educational and recreational activities. Simple recipes have been presented to help youth learn to create healthy snacks at low cost and encourage healthy eating, they made 'Skeleton' shirts and had a few movie days.
This fall we look forward to our 5th Birthday Party! celebrating the work we have done and the great accomplishments of the youth we serve. Other special activities include holiday celebrations including Halloween and Thanksgiving.
Although our Mural microproject was not fully funded, your contributions have been rolled into our transportation fund and are assisting youth who could not otherwise get to The SPOT for services. Thank you!
