Aide et Action has promoted iLEAD (Initiative for Livelihood Education And Development) program in the year 2005 to enhance the employability and entrepreneurship skills among youth in the age group of 18-35 years through short term accelerated skill trainings in new and various emerging occupations. The project aims at reducing the number of people living below poverty line by tapping market driven employment opportunities for unemployed and less educated youth
In India, before reaching 10th standard 63% of children are getting dropped out from school due to various reasons. Most of these children are from Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, religious minorities, esp. Muslims, Persons with disabilities (PWDs), and backward communities from the remote rural areas of the poorest regions of India. Once they get dropped out they do not have any opportunity for skill development and finally they land up in unorganized sector for employment with low wages.
The project will provide short term skill development training on beautician. Besides skill enhancement the project will provide sessions on soft skills, English and Basic Computers for overall Personality Development of youth especially women
