Upon notification that this project had been funded, I checked with my colleague from the Student Aid Department about the latest information about the student named Shu Cuixia, whom this project originally intended to support. Then I was told that Shu had already been funded by another donor.
Though we were happy for Shu, we thought we need to find another student to support with donor's fund. There are many students from underpriviledged area in China, who are desperate for help .Therefore, I asked my colleague from the Student Aid Department to find another student who is also in great need of help to go to college. Currently, they are looking from their data and hope to find one suffered from the April 20 earthquake struck Ya'An, Sichuan Province. Once they finalize the student to be funded, they will soon start the process of transferring the money.
We are grateful for donor Carmen Au's support for the Chinese student, whose dream of going to college could finally come true! Also special thanks go to GlobalGiving staff for coordinaton and support, which could make this project possible!
