Carol is fourteen. Before the earthquake she lived with her sister, but after the earthquake destroyed their home, Carol's sister could no longer care for her. She was sent to an orphanage. Despite the challenges she's faced, Carol is a bright, ambitious girl. She wants to be a nurse so that she can help others the way they've helped her. Your donation will give Carol the education she needs to break the cycle of poverty and build a bright future
School in Haiti is not free, and if a family cannot pay, their children simply do not attend. Lack of education locks these children in a cycle of poverty. Ensuring access to school not only improves children's lives, but strengthens Haitian communities in the long-term.
Carol has lived her whole life in poverty because her family couldn't afford to educate her or her sister. Your donation will give Carol the education she needs to ensure she does not follow in her sister's footsteps. We'll use your donation to pay Carol's school fees, provide books, school supplies, and extra support if she needs it. The education she'll receive will be life changing.
Access to education for children from families who do not have the means to send their children to school means that those children will have the skills they need to find stable jobs and escape the poverty of their families.
