By Julie Hutchison | President, Co-Founder and Chelsea's Mother
We wanted to update you on the status of Natalyn and her seizure-response dog. The Church that Natalyn and her family attend held a fundraiser for her recently and were able to fully-fund the cost of her seizure-response dog. Her dog is currently in training and should be in her hands in the next 6 months or sooner. That being said, she does not need a grant from The Chelsea Hutchison Foundation. The funds we collected on her behalf have been transferred to another young child by the name of Jacob, so this is more of an update on Jacob and how those funds were used.
Jacob has been diagnosed with Mitochondial disease, epilepsy and autism, just to mention a few. His mother reports that he seizes all of the time and that they are so afraid he will have one when he is out of their sight. Zelda is trained to assist Jacob and alert his family with not only his seizures, but with the risks that go along with being autistic. Zelda is Jacob's constant companion. This team is currently working together and Jacob is learning to handle Zelda in public.
Thank you just doesn't seem to express our gratitude for what you've done to change this little boy's life!
Respectfully,
