We are very grateful for your kind and generous donations to the School Benches Project.
This project was initiated to provide comfortable and durable benches cum desks for the slum children in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India.
The project aimed to raise $2200 USD through the GlobalGiving platform and use the funds to purchase and install 30 sets of benches cum desks for the local school. However, due to various challenges, the project was unsuccessful and retired. The project received only 4 donations from generous supporters, totaling $90 USD.
This amount was enough to purchase and install only one set of benches cum desk for the school, which was delivered and assembled on February 15, 2024. The school staff and the children expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the donation, which improved their learning environment and comfort.
The project faced several challenges that prevented it from reaching its full potential. Some of the challenges were:
High competition and low priority: The project had to compete with hundreds of other projects on the GlobalGiving platform, many of which had more urgent and compelling causes, such as disaster relief, health care, and human rights. The project also had a low priority ranking on the platform, which made it less likely to be featured or recommended to potential donors.
Lack of awareness and engagement: The project did not have enough exposure and outreach to attract more donors and supporters. The project also did not have a strong social media presence or a dedicated website to showcase the impact and progress of the project.
We would like to thank all the donors, supporters, and partners who contributed to the School Benches Project. Although the project did not reach its full goal, it still made a positive difference in the lives of the children from the slum area of Guntur.
We hope that you will continue to support our cause and our other projects, such as the Bicycles for Education Project, which aims to provide bicycles to the children from the slum to enable them to access education and opportunities.
