Sexual abuse, conflict, and displacement leave many Muslim girls in Borno State at high risk of HIV infection. Most survivors cannot access post-abuse healthcare, HIV prevention medicines such as Lenacapavir, mental health services, or safe shelter because of poverty and limited health services. Without timely support, they face lasting physical and emotional harm, stigma, and a greater risk of HIV.
This microproject will provide two doses of Lenacapavir to prevent HIV among seven Muslim girls in Borno State who have experienced sexual abuse. They will also receive medical care, HIV testing and follow-up, mental health support, safe housing, and case management. This package of care will reduce their risk of HIV, support their recovery, protect their safety, and help them rebuild their lives.
This microproject will help seven Muslim girls in Borno State avoid HIV infection after sexual abuse, giving them a healthier future and reducing the lifelong physical, emotional, and financial burden of HIV. With safe housing, mental health care, and medical support, the girls can continue their education, regain confidence, and rebuild their lives in safety. Their recovery can also strengthen their families and communities.
