Sabih Khan, a senior at Richardson High School, has been to JA Finance Park, worked with a volunteer in the classroom, and paid it forward by teaching JA curriculum to elementary school students through the JA High School Heroes program. This year, he was chosen as the 2013 Student of the Year and gave the keynote address at the JA Dallas Business Hall of Fame in front of more than 500 business and community leaders. “I learned a lot about myself and preparing for real life!” Sabih says in his speech.
His volunteer, Reuben Pratt, agreed as he sat with Sabih and his family at the event, saying that he could not believe the shy Sabih Khan he first worked with has become such a well-spoken, poised young man. A student’s transformation from shy to comfortable; from unsure to confident; from high school student to college and career ready young adult…this is the transformation that JA Dallas programs provide. They gain the tools of financial literacy, insight into career and educational options, understanding of the entrepreneurial skills that create opportunities, and the methods by which they can use this knowledge to cultivate their future success.
Thank you for helping students like Sabih own their economic success by attending JA Finance Park!
