On behalf of the SINAL team, we want to extend our sincerest gratitude to everyone who donated. Since the first week of July, we have been working on regenerating the soil in the burnt land, adding compost and planting pioneer trees every Friday. With health measures in place, we received small groups of volunteers each week - so far, a total of 50 people have participated in the reforestation session, planting 70 seedlings and spreading nitrogen fixer seeds!
We still have a long way to go, but the rainy season has just begun so we will continue to plant and give maintenance to the area every Friday.
We also hosted an open workshop for fire preventions for our team and key community members. We hope to continue strenghthening this group of Change Agents to solidify a culture of land stewardship in the Valley!
