Trinity Project is responding to devastating floods which have damaged roads, homes, schools and hospitals in southern Zimbabwe. Field officers will be reaching vulnerable children and families affected by these floods, to distribute humanitarian relief materials, providing them with food, shelter and sanitary products. This will keep these families safe, healthy and hopeful in this dark time.
This project is a response to flash floods in Zimbabwe throughout 2017. The floods have decimated schools, hospitals, transport links and homes - leaving many without food or shelter. These people are exposed to disease, danger and the situation shows no sign of changing soon. The government is unable to respond to flooding and nearby governments are turning away migrants, so the last hope of the people affected is to rely on NGOs and generous donations from people like you.
Trinity Project will distribute humanitarian relief to those affected and lobby local administration for a more effective, coordinated flood response, keeping vulnerable families safe and healthy. They have already worked in these communities so are known and trusted, holding strong working relations with relevant local governments and administrations already delivering disaster relief, which makes Trinity better placed to reach vulnerable and fearful families than other external organisations.
The most important impact of the project is the immediate help and hope it provides during the floods, but it also helps the long-term development of the country and well-being of the communities affected. By supporting humanitarian relief efforts, this project frees up government time and resources to rebuild infrastructure and roads, helping the country get back to normal faster - where families can get back to their homes and children can get back to school.
