During the time of the Taliban, Zargona was unable to attend a regular school. Instead, she studied in a secret homeschool until the fall of the Taliban, when she began attending a regular high school. She then won a scholarship to come to the United States to study during her 11th grade year. After returning to Afghanistan, she graduated and was admitted to a university in the United States where she is currently studying.
Zargona is attending a university in the United States. We recently learned that Zargona does not have money to spend on books and school related expenses such as supplies and travel to conferences. We are hoping to raise $1,500 to help her purchase pay for these items.
This project will provide Zargona with $1,500 to use to purchase book as well as cover other school related expenses.
Zargona is a bright young lady who plans to return to Afghanistan and help make her country a better place. She will be an example to other women of what an education can help a person to achieve. Her education in the United States will put her in a position to have a positive impact in her country, and this scholarship will ensure that she has the funds she needs to complete her education.
