We have assisted a record number of American women who have fled home to the USA with their children to escape abuse this year. This project will provide 20 families $60 worth of groceries so they can have their first holiday dinner as a family away from the horrible violence they have endured in countries overseas.
American mothers that flee home to safety with their children to escape domestic violence have next to nothing when they arrive home to the USA. They do not receive child support or alimony and face tremendous legal battles with their abusers. Most of the time they have fled with 2 or 3 children and can barely make ends meet. This holiday, we want them to enjoy a meal together.
20 American mothers and their children will have a holiday meal together for the first time since their escape from violence overseas.
The project serves 500 women per year empowering them to find alternatives to a life of violence so their children grow up in violence free homes with their self-esteem in tact with the hope of stopping the cycle of violence in future generations.
