Isatu lives in the Wellington suburb on Freetown. Like tens of thousands of other youths in Sierra Leone - she is computer-illiterate and has not received any instruction in or access to computers. By providing this computer - loaded with training software - Isatu will become computer proficiency - a vital skill needed for success in today's technology-driven society. She will also benefit tremendously from the training provided. She is eager to learn and knows that this will help her a lot.
This project will eradicate the problem of computer illiteracy for Isatu. Through providing this computer, she will learn how to use a computer extensively and benefit from provided computer training sessions and software. She is an avid learner and smart-witted. We anticipate that this will tremendously enhance her abilities and potential. This will significantly improve her employment / business opportunities.
Funds will be used to purchase a computer, install training software and ship it to Freetown. This project will provide direct access to a computer for use by Isatu. The project will solve the problem of computer inaccessibility - by making available a computer and software that she can use to become proficient. This will also open her up to the possibility of starting a business.
We have proven over the years that providing access to computers and training revolutionizes the lives of youths, opening them up to new opportunities. Technology training effectively broadens their options. This is the impact that this project will achieve in Isatu's life - providing computer proficiency - a crucial key for success in today's technology-dependent society.
