Challenge

We believe that all young people can find their path to success. As technological fluency has become a requirement for today's 21st Century workforce, NFTE NY Metro aims to engage students in real-world applicable experiences. Students who drop out of high school often cite that they might have stayed if the information had been engaging or relevant. Our project directly addresses this issue by providing students with the opportunity to develop skills in innovation, design, and entrepreneurship.

Solution

By supporting NY Metro's CAD & 3D Printer Project, we will be able to provide our students with unprecedented access and training as they build businesses using the latest technology. Our project will provide NFTE students with the ability to hone their skills as tech-entrepreneurs by designing virtual blueprints and printing functional 3D products. These products will become a part of students' business plans to generate profit. This project will make design dreams come true in a real, 3D way.

Long-Term Impact

By working to keep at-risk students engaged in their school work, NFTE spurs its participants to graduate high school and dare to dream of a brighter future. Whether they pursue higher education, enter the workforce, or start their own business, NFTE instills an entrepreneurial mindset in young people so they can plan for success. Since 1987 NFTE has worked with over 500,000 students across the U.S. and around the world.
