We have been pleased that people like yourselves have been willing to help in Honduras when the crisis is all over the world. Thank you for that blessing. To date we have handed out 1,000 bags of food to the poor in Santa Ana, Mirador, Tidasko, and surrounding communities.
Our Honduran friends and my clinic employees have been helping to pack out the food into 1 week bags for families in need. James is supervising the project in Honduras and many IRC board members are raising the funds on this end.
Patients are unable to get to the clinic due to frequent police posts (every mile) and people are only allowed to go to get groceries (a hour away) once a week. None of the poor have cars and public transportation is shut down. Very frustrating.
In addition the Hospital Escuela is unable to handle this crisis. Our own country is not allowing medical supplies out of the country at this time. They stop them in the port. We have been able to get them supplies from other countries which is expensive and difficult at best..
Thank you for your continued support to care for people you have never even met. It says alot about you to be willing to help fellow human beings, no matter where they are.
Serving Him with you,
gayle
