This project will educate 160 children peace ambassadors in non violent conflict resolution from 5 counties that are affected by conflict in Kenya before the 2013 General Elections.
Even children are determined to use force to protect their families and livestock, with many using bows and arrows to do so. "I will not wait for the enemies to kill my family, I have to take charge and remain alert," Brian, a 12-year-old boy, "Raiders stole our 11 cattle. Only three remained and I have to guard them," Brain had dropped out of primary school because of the conflict.
We provide a camping and educational experience where 160 children from different cultures board, learn, eat and play together for seven days. They exchange ideas on how best to live and promote peace.
There is greater recognition of child participation in policies, programmes and promotion of children's citizenship and their right to expression, information, decision-making and association.
