Support student entrepreneurs in Washington, D.C. by providing them with experiential classroom activities, such as teambuilding Lego exercises, prizes for business competitions, and other fun ways to expand their educational horizons.
Funds needed to provide experiential activities' supplies, like Lego kits and business plan competition awards, to students from low-income communities in 50 NFTE classrooms around the Washington, DC region. The project will support entrepreneurial activities that reach 1,000 students.
Hands-on learning with experiential activities engages students in school and motivates them to think creatively, recognize opportunities, plan strategically, set goals, and communicate effectively. Coupled with NFTE's core curriculum these activities will drive students to think about their futures and business in a new light.
By working to keep at-risk students engaged in their school work, NFTE spurs its participants to graduate high school and dare to dream of a brighter future. Whether they pursue higher education, enter the workforce, or start their own business, NFTE instills an entrepreneurial mindset in young people so they can plan for success. Since 1987 NFTE has worked with almost 500,000 students across the U.S. and around the world.
