Dear project supporters
I am happy to report that I had the opportunity to visit the poultry site in the last week of July.
This provided the excellent opportunity for me to meet with staff and discuss strategy / implementation etc. My trip afforded the occasion for me to take part in the planning and due diligence process. Our vet, Dr. B. was present in one of the meetings and he provided invaluable advice regarding getting the room ready and taking care of the chicks.
The proceedings and discussions went on very well. We have an excellent project manager in place to ensure this is well managed.
The facilities had been previously used as a small poultry farm. The landlord decided to go out of business and relocated with his family. You can see from the photos that the room is in excellent condition. With funds you provided we have been able to advance preparations towards launch. We have purchased the needed tools and cleaning supplies such as bleach, a shovel, rake, brooms and brushes etc. With these supplies we have done a thorough cleaning of both the room and the outside yard. Over the next 1-2 months, as funding allows we hope to purchase the remaining items needed such as feeders / drinkers, day-old chicks and commence operations. We would deeply appreciate your support towards launching this venture - as this will help provide sustainable funding and support.
