500 displaced people (50 families) in Burkina Faso will have shelters instead of occupying primary school buildings. This will give them some privacy and the schools will be able to open early October 2023. Those refugees have gone through a major trauma. A proper shelter is one of the important things they need to be able to go through it.
Terrorists have expulsed habitants of the villages of Sissa and Nefrelaye. Those 2.000 people add up to the 2.000.000 displaced people in Burkina Faso. Some of those 2.000 villagers have taken refuge in villages close to the city of Bobo Dioulasso others joined family they have in the city. For those who are in villages, school buildings have been used by families to have some kind of shelter or they have built straw sheds. This project will provide tents for 50 families.
Each of the 50 families (500 people) will have its tent allowing for more privacy. The families will be able to move out of the primary school buildings, allowing the schools to open early October 2023. Space to set up the tents will be negociated with the village leaders. Hopefully it will be in one zone, allowing all the refugees of one village to be together.
By making the opening of the primary schools possible, children of refugees also will benefit and will be able to start or continue their education. Education is the basis of all development.
